Summer Theater Workshop – Introductory Class

This workshop is for students who have never participated in an STC Summer Theater Workshop before.
Description:
The Summer Theater Workshop for Youth is a fun introduction to the theater arts for young people. Students will create stories and characters based on their own creative ideas, and will learn how to present their stories through improvisational techniques and acting exercises. Students will also be introduced to costuming, lighting and set design concepts and a workshop including basic dance steps used in choreography.
Two Sessions:
Session 1: 9 - 20 July (Mon – Fri)
Session 2: 6 – 17 Aug (Mon – Fri)
Cost: $200

8 – 10 9:00 – 11:30
11 – 15 12:00 – 14:30
*Students must meet the minimum age requirement by the start date of the workshop they desire to attend.
Summer Theater Workshop – Advanced Class
Facilitator: Barb Heidt
This workshop is for students who have already participated in an STC Summer Theater Workshop.
Description:
This workshop builds on concepts learned in the introductory workshop, but includes additional topics such as script analysis and character development, a greater focus on bringing a script to life, and improving acting and technical theater skills. This workshop is for all ages. Scripts and exercises will be given according to age and experience level.
Two sessions:
Session 1: 9 - 20 July (Mon-Fri) 3:00 – 5:30
Session 2: 6 – 17 Aug (Mon-Fri) 3:00 – 5:30
Cost : $200
