General Description:
Stuttgart Family Child Care (FCC) provides child care services at four primary installations: Patch Barracks, Kelly Barracks, Robinson Barracks, and Panzer Kaserne, all located within 30 minutes of each other.
Before an FCC applicant is accepted into the Family Child Care Program the applicant and their family must complete a home interview. Background clearances are also required for the applicant, spouse and any children over the age of 12. The FCC applicant then completes a weeklong training program to include Infant and Adult CPR, First Aid, Preventing, Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse, Administering Medication and Communicable Diseases, Business Practices, Fire, and Safety. Prior to opening a home to ensure high standards of care are maintained, Fire, Safety, Community Health and the FCC team of professional staff members inspect all FCC homes.
To support FCC Providers the FCC office maintains a toy lending library that contains a variety of toys, cribs, highchairs, booster seats, strollers, children’s books, resource books, art supplies, sleeping mats and a variety of other items. The FCC office also provides cabinet locks, fire extinguishers, first aid kits and outlet covers. The lending library is open to all FCC providers so they can change out items based on children’s needs and interests.
